60 years of Milton Keynes, told by the people who live here.
Milton Keynes has grown from a new-town designation in 1967 to a city of around 287,000 residents. The anniversary provides a natural moment for communities to meet, exchange stories and recognise what each has added to the city.
Kofi Mukaase began with a Ghanaian chop-bar tradition: food as a social experience. In 2027, that starting point becomes a wider invitation. Each participating culture contributes more than a menu, a host, memory, performance or custom that helps visitors understand the people behind the food.

05 / Built from experience
Established food-festival roots. A broader civic format for 2027.
The founding Kofi Mukaase team delivered outdoor food and cultural festivals at Gadebridge Park, Hemel Hempstead, in 2024 and 2025. Those events established the festival’s communal food identity.
The proposed Milton Keynes edition adds a curated multi-cultural programme, advance registration, a managed 2,000-person capacity, priority for local participation and post-event reporting.
